Those of you who follow me on Twitter know my proclivity for retweeting photos of Bradford in all its glory, and using the hashtag #hiddenBD.
The hashtag was thought up by the amazing @HiddenBradford team (one of my Bradford Cultural Pirates and an amazing bunch of tweeters). It’s there to highlight the hidden gems of Bradford & District, particularly photos of our wonderful area. I’ve taken a bit of a liberty and started using it to highlight stuff going on as well, such as Bettakultcha, The Record Club or any hometoursiting I’ve done.
They’re not happy with one wonderful idea, though, and have come up with #bradfordphotoaday – a fantastic idea to really showcase the outstanding and the everyday that Bradford has to offer.
During April, Hidden Bradford has set a daily photo challenge for people who live, work, study or regularly visit Bradford.
The ‘Bradford photo a day’ challenge has a word prompt for each day of April. Each number corresponds with the date of the month. You can interpret the word by being as literal or as abstract as you like… but the picture has to be taken within Bradford District. Once you have taken your photo you can share it in one or more of the following ways:
- Post on your instagram account. Add the hashtag #bradfordphotoaday
- Post on your twitter account. Add the hashtag #bradfordphotoaday
- Post to the Hidden Bradford flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/hiddenbradford/
And, don’t forget to also share on your blog, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest…
I love telling and showing people what wondrous places there are in Bradford, and I can’t wait to see what your favourite places are. I’ll be checking #bradfordphotoaday every day to see the gems just around the corner that I can seek out for myself.
